Your DER is the person we contact for random drug test selections, compliance notices, and test results. Every DOT company must have one.
Are you a CDL driver for this company?
🚛 FMCSA shows 1 driver, 1 power unit — this looks like an owner operator. We pre-selected "Yes, I Drive" for you.
🚛
Yes, I Drive
I hold a CDL and drive for this company
💼
No, I Don't Drive
I manage operations, safety, or administration
✅
Vertical Identity will serve as your DER.
Because you're a CDL driver, DOT regulations require a separate Designated Employer Representative. As your consortium provider, we handle this for you at no extra cost. All random selection notices, test results, and compliance communications go through our team.

What's a DER?
I'm not sure — help me understand
What is a DER?
A DER (Designated Employer Representative) is required by FMCSA for every company in a drug & alcohol testing program. This is the person who:
• Receives notice when a driver is selected for a random drug test
• Gets test results and compliance communications from us
• Is the point of contact for DOT audits
For most owner operators, you are the DER. For larger companies, it's often a safety director, office manager, or dispatcher.
Now — who will be your DER?
